Somebody please tell me I actually am in another country. The great country of California no longer feels like another country. I land here and my phone works. I am driving a car right from the airport. My brain isn't thinking anymore on the roads. Driving on the wrong side is now invoulantary action. Heck, I don't even reach out for the wipers to signal a turn. I know exactly which store to go get what. I am calling a whole lot of people. They even know who is calling since my number hasn't changed. I actually see familiar faces crossing the streets. I slept at 10pm and woke up by 6am. My access card works at office without getting it activated. Some people say "you're back again???" while others didn't even realize I left.
Yikes! And yet I can't have an SSN. So, no Avis preferred, no safeway cards, nothing. Bah! Home 2.0 feels weird.
