The star that never sets

Philosophical
This star has found a new home; my home. Reason: The old home is gone.
The star that never sets

Warning: The remainder of this post will have excessive usage of I

Today is the first day I lead as someone unemployed. I have never been legally unemployed ever since this blog came into existence. It has been a long run. I always felt that it should end on a high. I think I've done a decent job at that.

I decline to flatly eulogize the great people you meet and the great friends you make for the reason that if you have part of any society, those two things are a given. What I'd rather talk of is how it has influenced my life. It has given me a work ethic very early on that continues to serve me well. When I look around and try and understand why different people do different things; I all comes down to upbringing. Though there is a core character in each one of us, I could clearly see how the early year's of one's professional life has significantly influenced their work ethic. In many ways, I am fortunate enough to have been at the right place at the right time. And sure, all of that is possible because of great people and great friends. The thing to recognize is that having them around in itself is not a good thing. It is how all of that influences (and you allow it to influence) that makes it worthwhile.

I've always said that it makes no sense to talk of where you want to go away from. The only thing that makes sense is where you want to go. It is a case of not that I loved Caesar less but that I loved Rome more. Surprisingly many people can't seem to tell the difference. With that in mind, I'm so tempted to talk of what Rome is but I'd rather not talk of it till I actually reach RomeRome has to offer. The lines between steadfastness and stubbornness existed no more. The way I got through it is by reminding myself that I had accounted for all these things and someone trying to point it out vociferously does not change it. Anyways what is done is done :-)

The things that I don't want to write about are all the emotional pieces for I'd rather keep them off the internets

Update: To be filled when I reach Rome.

My star disappeared when I transferred to EGL. Anyway, glad to know that you are going to be teh chief architects or something like that. I'm still trying to get there. Maybe not even trying any more.
